Increasing digital manufacturing capacity at Ai

The Titan CNC, for when size matters

The newest addition to Ai’s stable of CNC machines arrived in early September. The Fom Industrie Titan CNC machine is the largest in Australia and will help to ensure machining and fabrication projects don’t have to leave Australia. The aiFAB team began unpacking the machine from its two shipping containers; this was no small feat. It will be fully commissioned in early October.

Incorporating FOM’s unique 5 axis head, the Titan is a customisable 5-axis machining centre designed to work aluminium and PVC. It’s performance

strengths and massive capacity make it the perfect choice for the heavy vehicle sector. Its flexibility makes it ideal for any 5 axis applications on large profiles.

Standard bed lengths are 10m or 16m. The Z capacity is more than 400mm, with more than 650mm available in the Y. However, as a fully customisable solution, all specs can be modified on request. The on board tool change system allows an expansive range of tools to be readily available to the machining head. This machine offers the additional loading feature to bring the clamping systems towards the operator, resulting in quick and easy access, either manually or by overhead cranes.

The Titan significantly expands what Ai can do for EDGE Architectural customers and adds to our commitment of delivering Peak Service. With the capability to machine a length of material up to 16.4 metres long, the Titan complements the three Italmac and one Elumatec CNC workstations already in use at aiFAB.
